The World

  "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him."

"For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world."

"And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever."

I John 2:15-17

     "The world is an age, era, time frame, or generation that utilizes human ingenuity to develop a conscious system of open opposition toward the authority of God and His Word.  It incorporates the abstract and unlawful use of nature, combined with the corrupt and rebellious imaginations found in the hearts of mass humanity, and demonstrated in daily life and conduct."

• The world embraces the flesh and is therefore carnal.
• The world rebukes faith and is therefore sensual.
• The world pleases the eye and is therefore lustful.
• The world desires attention and is therefore vain.
• The world accommodates all things and is therefore liberal.
• The world has no standard and is therefore lost.
• The world refuses truth and is therefore in bondage.
• The world does not honor the true God and therefore has many.
• The world rejects accountability and therefore will be judged.
• The world enjoys this life and therefore will suffer death.
